MEET ANGIE BOYD
I started my journey in beauty nearly 15 years ago, at the age of 30, after moving back to England from Germany and needing to build a career around my children.
I was never particularly into beauty growing up — I was very much a tomboy — but within months of returning home, I had enrolled at college and started again from scratch.
What began as a small beauty room in my mum’s house grew into five salons and an academy. Along the way, I worked through my qualifications, completed countless hours of CPD and progressed to become a Level 7 Aesthetics Practitioner.
BW Academy was created from my own experience as a learner. I wanted to build the kind of training environment I had often wished for myself — practical, supportive, hands-on and focused on real confidence, not just gaining a certificate.
Today, I run the academy alongside an incredible team of working practitioners, including my daughter, and we support learners from complete beginners through to experienced practitioners ready to progress further.
If there is one thing my journey has taught me, it is this:
You do not have to start with experience. You just have to start.
